What’s the best pairing ever? Books and wine!
And fall is a fabulous time to sit outside with a great Southern read from Pelican Bookstore and a glass of wine from Silver Coast Winery.
Back for the first time since the spring of 2019 B.C. (Before COVID), our local bookstore and our winery will be “pairing” up for two author events.
Now pay attention, because things will be a little different this year. Tickets must be purchased in advance. And they are limited, as the winery has to allow for social distancing in their barrel room.
The very protective, big-time New York publishers have finally allowed their New York Times best-selling authors to go out and meet and greet their readers – everyone has to stay safe, so no tickets will be sold at the door. All you have to do is call Silver Coast Winery at (910) 287-2800 to reserve your seat. But don’t leave a voice message. You have to speak to a representative and pay for your ticket.
Now, about the authors: First up is Kristy Woodson Harvey on Friday, Oct. 29, at 5 p.m. For $34 you get a paperback copy of her latest book, “Christmas in Peachtree Bluff,” a glass of delicious, award-winning wine, light hors d’oeuvres and a meet-and-greet book signing with a very special NYT bestselling author.
A week later, on Friday, Nov. 5, also at 5 p.m., is Karen White. For $45, your ticket includes a hardcover copy of “The Attic on Queen Street,” a superb glass of award-winning wine, light hors d’oeuvres and a meet-and-greet book signing with another very charming, best-selling NYT author.
This is a Pelican Bookstore Event, but the venue is Silver Coast Winery, so please call the winery today to reserve your seat and a book. There’s no need to reserve your wine – they have plenty! (Also beer and soda.)
Be sure to taste the sesame and key lime olive oils. You won’t believe what they both do for vanilla ice cream – yes, vanilla ice cream!
