Andre Drummond quickly etching name in Sixers rebounding record books – Sixers Wire

The Philadelphia 76ers have seen some great big men pass through in the history of the franchise. From Wilt Chamberlain to Moses Malone to Charles Barkley to now with Joel Embiid. They all have made their impact on the franchise.
Now, in his short time with the team, Andre Drummond has begun to put his name in the franchise record books for rebounding as well. He already has his name mentioned with Malone’s after tying his debut rebounding record back in the season opener.
After securing 25 rebounds on Monday and then grabbing 20 rebounds on Tuesday, Drummond continues to make Sixers history early. He is the first Sixer to record 45+ rebounds over a two-game span since Barkley in 1988.

On top of that, he is just the fourth Sixer to have two straight games with 20+ rebounds as he joins Barkley, Clarence Weatherspoon, and most recently, Samuel Dalembert.

In three games as a starter filling in for Embiid, Drummond is averaging 15.0 points, 20.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists as he has made a big impact. Philadelphia grabbing him on just a veteran’s minimum deal looks like it is a steal at the moment.
