Williamsburg County Children’s Librarian Kimberly Matthews has such fun these days cataloging and displaying the many new titles of children’s books arriving at the library. The new books have refreshed the library collection with more series such as The Boxcar Children, new fiction titles, new easy reader titles, and new non-fiction titles, which are all on the library shelves awaiting checkout by young readers and their families. Books to read to tiny babies, toddlers, and little pre-readers and books children and young adults can enjoy by themselves are all available in abundance.
The New Call-Ahead-and-Dash-In-and-Out Service
Families with limited time to browse the library collection can call Mrs. Matthews at the Kingstree Library and ask that she provide a Book Bundle for children to take home. These books can be selected by Mrs. Matthews for age specific ages or grade levels. Book requests can also be ready for families to check out. Book Bundles will be ready to go when families arrive at the library. Mrs. Matthews may be reached at (843) 355-9486.
The Williamsburg County Library Facebook page shows all the Storytimes and Creative Space titles available to go home with patrons. Go home bags with these materials can be requested ahead of a visit by calling Roberta McCutchen at (843) 355-9486. These bags are meant to stay at home, not to be returned to the library.
The Williamsburg County Library YouTube Channel features a number of the Storytimes in video form read by library staff. Interesting cultural adventures are also on this channel. These are videos of community members whose interests or businesses are of particular interest are added to frequently. We hope you will enjoy viewing these. Need help accessing YouTube? Just call the library.
Need some craft instructions? Call Ginger Mouzon at (843) 355-9486. She can provide some for you. Craft instructions for various ages are available.
Adults with no time to browse can call ahead to the library desk to ask a bundle be prepared to take home. Audrey Williams or Stephanie Watson can be called at (843) 355-9486 to help with your requests. Many, many, new titles of fiction in both large print and regular print and many non-fiction titles have arrived at the library recently.

The Kingstree Library is located at 215 N. Jackson Street in Kingstree. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and closed Saturday and Sunday.
